The PR team of Norwich-based marketing communications agency, The Works, has been short-listed for three awards at this years’ CIPR (Chartered Institute of Public Relations) New PRide Awards East Anglia.
One of the PR team’s highest-profile campaigns of 2007 was Earth Event, for which the team has been short-listed for best Low Budget Campaign and best Integrated Campaign. Earth Event, which was held at the Forum, was responsible for raising awareness of environmental issues across the region and drew 100,000 visitors to see the outdoor photographic display in front of the Forum and City Hall earlier this year.
In addition to these two prestigious team awards, senior account executive Rachael Paddick was short-listed for Outstanding Young Communicator, after demonstrating the impressive results she has secured for clients including Aldiss, Chapelfield and Active Norfolk, as well as showing outstanding professional promise.
Reaching the final shortlist is proof that The Works’ work has been judged to be among the best in the UK. The CIPR PRide Awards is the only awards scheme showcasing the best PR work being carried out nationally, with entries judged and shortlists chosen by a panel of industry experts. Winners will be announced at a black tie presentation dinner in Ipswich on Wednesday 5th December.
James Duffell, account director of the PR team at The Works is thrilled with the result: “To be short-listed for these awards is independent proof of the outstanding results achieved by the team on behalf of our clients. In Rachael we have a rising star of the future who is an asset for any of our clients to have working on their behalf.”
Colin Farrington, CIPR director general and chairman of the judges, said: “To reach the PRide Awards shortlist is a remarkable achievement as year on year the quantity and quality of entries increases and competition gets stronger. The finalists are testament to the good PR work going on outside London and across different sectors. They should feel proud of their and their chosen profession’s invaluable contribution to business and society”
