Norfolk-based company, Real Open Golf, has appointed us to spread awareness of the Real Open Golf amateur tournament and its Grand Final, which will be held at The Belfry in August.
The Real Open Golf Tournament is the first amateur competition of its kind and is open to all golfers throughout the UK providing they are a member of a golf club and have an official handicap.
The competition is unlike any other since there’s no need for entrants to travel the length and breadth of the country to play off at qualifying events. Players simply pay a one off entry fee and submit their scores achieved over any number of the regulated competitions they compete in. The top 200 players (judged by everyone’s best two scores) will be invited to play at the prestigious Grand Final at The Belfry on August 18.
2007 is the first year of the Real Open Golf Tournament so we’re aiming to use our award-winning communication skills to raise the profile of the event throughout the country and encourage budding players to test their abilities against national competition.
Mark King of Real Open Golf says: “We’re really excited to be hosting the tournament for the first time this summer. We’ve got some fantastic golfers on side, an aspiring venue for the Grand Final and now one of the county’s strongest PR teams onboard to generate an influx of new entries before the closing date of 28 July.”
James Duffell, Works’ Account Director, comments: “The PR team has expanded its portfolio of clients in recent months and Real Open Golf is a welcome addition. It’s a fresh, innovative local company and it’s a pleasure to be involved with such an exciting national event.”
